I Ching
by Martin Burke

The Clinging, Fire

fire clings to fire

attention to the household tasks
brings success

the superior man is also a fire
brightening the world

                             *

the tracks are confused yet there is no blame

supreme good fortune

as the sun sets
some bewail the onslaught of age
misfortune

flame rises, then fades

there are sights and laments

the king will chastise
yet there is no blame
