I Ching
by Martin Burke

The Well

abysmal water and gentle wind

all may be changed but the well does not change
caution is however needed

the superior man encourages
he urges unity

                             *

do not drink dank water

the jug breaks -misfortune

only if the king is right-minded
can there be joy in common

men work at the well
no blame

clear water, clear water-
drink

you can draw from the well without difficulty-
good fortune
