Before Completion

clinging flame, abysmal water

caution near the end is needed
if you want to reach the end

fire over water-
the superior man is careful of
and respects the difference inherent in all things

                             *

he sinks in water
humiliation

the wheels of his cart break-
he will need perseverance

misfortune can befall him at any time
yet it is good to cross the great water

perseverance brings success
remorse fades and is gone

the light of the superior man is the true light

drink wine when in fellowship
but do not drink too much
