Splitting Apart

the mountain and receptive earth

all things separate
do not move

the mountain rests on the earth-
those above endure their position
by giving to those below

                             *

things go awry
to persevere now
is to encounter misfortune

nothing has changed
the situation is the same

all goes awry
yet there is no blame

there is no change
misfortune

a shoal of fish -yes,
everything acts and advances

the superior man receives a gift
the house of his inferior is torn apart
